The Maria Complex Presents: Incredible Women

My third feature in honor of Women’s History Month is Plant Medicine Coach Isa Mendoza. My journey with Isa has been a beautiful one, we both felt like misfits in our previous careers. We bonded over the pains and joys of motherhood and our quest for our true purpose. It’s a painful yet beautiful journey of self discovery that leads you to your higher self. It isn’t easy to be so vulnerable and share such personal struggles with the world, yet by doing so you open your arms to a community of people who share your pain. Throughout the years she has served as a spiritual advisor to me, sharing her personal journey with plant medicine and healing.

It isn’t easy to be so vulnerable and share such personal struggles with the world, yet by doing so you open your arms to a community of people who share your pain. Throughout the years she has served as a spiritual advisor to me, sharing her personal journey with plant medicine and healing. Plant medicine has served as a powerful tool in self discovery and healing.

Today, we are beginning to understand through science and clinical research just how powerful these medicines can be in the face of some of our most serious and hard to treat psychological conditions. Plant medicines such as ayahuasca, psilocybin, cannabis, and ibogaine have shown huge promise in treating conditions like post-trauma stress disorder (PTSD), opiate addiction, nicotine addiction, alcoholism, anxiety, and depression. It’s incredible to realize that when utilized correctly, these psychedelic plants often prove to be safer and more effective than the conventional treatments and prescription medications that modern science offers. It’s a beautiful thing when you see someone find their purpose in life, so I wanted to share her story with you.

Isa is a passionate advocate for love and plant medicine. She serves clients who desire to make more money, improve their relationships and feel more satisfied through the use of plant medicine and other spiritual tools. Before finding her purpose, Isa was living a life that her world told her she should be living. She got married, had the kid, got the promotion, traveled frequently and bought the “dream” apartment. And through it all, she battled daily with her negative thoughts, emotions, anxiety, depression and the fact that she thought she would’ve been happy already.

As Isa invested time, money and energy on her inner work, she was able to completely transform her life into one that felt so much more authentic and aligned with her soul. Isa’s mission is to integrate plant medicine into Western culture to help us evolve into a loving and harmonious society. She offers Kambo treatments in the NY, NJ, CT area and coaching for those who desire to integrate their medicine experiences to create positive change in their lives and the world.
